I can't say that coaching didn't contribute to Dax's struggles...could be.


I do think that based on his rating the assumption was that he is far more athletic than he actually is. But there were question marks IMO. We initially played him at a position that wasn't his best fit (was it the right call?), Then by year two his position coach and DC had knee issues and was pondering retirement. I would think that has some impact. While I like Hamilton the person, and the former player. Is there really enough data on him as a coach? For me there isn't. His position groups didn't really stand out to me when he was on the staff, and unfortunately he didn't have enough time to really build the D he wanted. With that said I wouldn't call his defense a liability. He did ok with what we have. But.....seeing players like Hollifield and Hunter leave here without getting drafted by the NFL feels strange when they were so highly touted. It feels like it's somehow on us to that they didn't become better players. I say this because both have been praised for their work ethic. So what gives?
